NIMC Introduces WhatsApp, Live Chat Support Channels for NIN Enquiries

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC has launched new digital customer support channels aimed at improving accessibility, responsiveness and service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents seeking assistance on National Identification Number-related issues.

The Commission announced the introduction of a Live Chat feature on its official website and an official WhatsApp support platform as part of its ongoing digital transformation and customer service improvement initiatives.

According to the Commission, members of the public can now access support services through the Live Chat feature on NIMC Official Website and the official WhatsApp support line: +234 701 566 6971.

NIMC stated that the initiative forms part of reforms being implemented under the leadership of Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission.

The Commission explained that the platforms were introduced to provide Nigerians and legal residents with faster, more convenient and real-time access to support services without the need for physical visits to enrolment centres and offices.

According to NIMC, the platforms will enable users to receive prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance and verified updates relating to NIN services and identity management issues.

The Commission added that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in the area of improving public sector efficiency and expanding access to government services through technology-driven solutions.

NIMC further urged Nigerians to use only official communication channels when seeking information or assistance in order to avoid misinformation and fraudulent activities.

The statement announcing the initiative was signed by Kayode Adegoke, Head of the Corporate Communications Unit of the Commission.
