The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, has reiterated the importance of stakeholder collaboration and intelligence sharing in strengthening security and community policing across the state.

Ojajuni made this known while attending the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Murtala Bolanle.

The engagement, held in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, focused on deepening community partnership, improving public safety coordination and enhancing intelligence-led policing initiatives in Ogun State.

According to the Command, the meeting provided a platform for interaction between police authorities and key community stakeholders on ways to strengthen crime prevention mechanisms and early response systems across local communities.

Discussions at the meeting centred on sustaining existing security partnerships and improving community-driven approaches to policing and public safety.

Chairman of the PCRC, Lawal Abdullahi, commended the Commissioner of Police for personally attending the meeting, describing it as the first time a serving police commissioner in Ogun State had participated directly in a PCRC monthly engagement.

He said the development reflected a strong commitment to community policing and pledged the continued support of the committee toward maintaining peace and security across the state.

In his remarks, Ojajuni appreciated members of the PCRC and other stakeholders for their continued collaboration with the police through advocacy, intelligence sharing and community engagement.

The police commissioner stressed that effective policing depends largely on strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders, noting that sustained engagement remained critical in addressing emerging security threats.

He reaffirmed the Ogun State Police Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-driven and people-oriented policing in line with ongoing national policing reforms aimed at protecting lives and property.
