Wema Bank has marked its 81st anniversary alongside the 9th anniversary of ALAT, unveiling a series of customer-focused initiatives aimed at rewarding loyalty and promoting financial growth.
The bank, Nigeria’s oldest indigenous financial institution, said this year’s celebration, held on May 2, 2026, will prioritise giving back to customers, departing from the large-scale festivities that characterised its 80th anniversary in 2025.
As part of the celebrations, Wema Bank announced rewards for customers via the ALAT app and the launch of Season 5 of its “5 for 5” reward initiative, designed to benefit hundreds of customers.
Aligned with its anniversary theme, “Your Future of Possibilities, Powered by Wema Bank,” the lender also introduced a specialised customer success programme targeted at various segments, including businesses, students, working-class women, and creatives.
Commenting on the initiative, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, said the bank is focused on helping customers navigate a rapidly evolving digital and economic landscape.
