The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has commenced the CGC BA Adeniyi Football Tournament, aimed at fostering unity and collaboration among security agencies in Oyo State.
The tournament, which kicked off on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the The Polytechnic Ibadan Football Field, features participation from various sister security agencies operating within the state.
The opening match saw the Nigeria Customs Service Football Club face off against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Football Club in a keenly contested encounter that ended in a goalless draw.
Organisers said the competition is designed not only to promote physical fitness among personnel but also to strengthen inter-agency cooperation, teamwork, and esprit de corps within the security architecture.
The tournament is scheduled to run until May 19, 2026, with participating teams expected to compete in a series of matches for top honours.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that enhance collaboration among security agencies while also prioritising the welfare and well-being of its officers and men.
