The Lagos State Police Command has played host to the Chairman, Committee on All Police Matters and Commissioner representing the South-West at the Police Service Commission, Taiwo Lakanu, during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Lakanu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, was accompanied by Omolara Oloruntola, Commandant of the Police College, Ikeja, as well as Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawa-Allah.
Speaking during the visit, Lakanu said his presence in Lagos was part of his oversight responsibilities on the ongoing police recruitment screening exercise in the state.
He commended the Commissioner of Police and the Command for their proactive efforts in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Lagos.
He also charged members of the screening committee to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism, stressing the need for fairness and transparency throughout the recruitment process.
In his response, Jimoh expressed appreciation for the visit and the commendation, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to supporting the Police Service Commission and ensuring a credible and hitch-free recruitment exercise.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by relevant authorities to ensure transparency and accountability in the Nigeria Police recruitment process.
