In a momentous and history-making event, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe has officially took the oath of office as the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the leadership of the area.
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, was not only symbolic but also monumental, as it featured the formal inauguration of all 57 newly elected Chairmen across Lagos State’s Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
In his address, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, emphasized that leadership is not just about capability, but about trust.
He charged all sworn-in Chairmen to lead with purpose, accountability, and integrity, making it clear that the mandate they now carry is not just a privilege but a call to serve the people who have entrusted them with their votes.
“This is not just the beginning of another tenure; it is a call to purpose. It’s not about who can do it best, it is about justifying the trust of the people,” the Governor stated.
The event witnessed the presence of high-profile dignitaries, further highlighting its significance. In attendance were the Apex Leader of Mushin and Odi-Olowo LCDA, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), a respected GAC member, His Excellency Governor Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Hon. Toyin Fayinka, Hon. Yinka Esho, among many other notable figures in Lagos politics and governance.
For Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe, this marks the beginning of a significant task one that goes beyond ceremonial duties. It is a task of transformation, responsibility and people-centered governance.
