FirstBank Cardholders Gain Google Pay Option for Contactless Payments

FirstBank cardholders can now use Google Pay to make contactless payments at supported terminals worldwide, giving eligible customers another option for digital transactions locally and internationally.

The bank announced the integration on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, saying eligible cardholders can add their cards to Google Pay and make payments using compatible devices at supported payment terminals.

The service also offers faster checkout and security features designed to protect digital transactions.

Abednego Ugwueke, Group Head, e-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank, said the integration was part of the bank’s efforts to expand its digital payment services and provide customers with more convenient ways to transact.

He said the service would connect eligible cardholders to a globally accepted payment platform while maintaining the security and reliability expected of the bank.

Google Pay adds to FirstBank’s existing digital banking and payment channels, including LIT App, FirstMobile, FirstOnline, FirstDirect and its payment cards.

The integration forms part of the bank’s investment in technology-driven services aimed at improving customer experience and expanding access to digital payments.
