FirstBank has dismissed a voice message circulating on WhatsApp alleging that its FirstMobile application has been compromised, assuring customers that the platform remains secure and fully operational.

The bank described the message as false and misleading, urging customers and other stakeholders to disregard the claim and rely on its verified communication channels for information about its digital banking services.

FirstBank said its FirstMobile application is supported by information security infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols designed to maintain the resilience, reliability and security of its digital channels.

The bank also assured customers that their funds remain safe and that FirstMobile, alongside its other digital banking channels, continues to operate securely.

FirstBank warned customers against sharing unverified information capable of creating unnecessary concern, particularly messages concerning the security of its digital platforms.

The bank said it would continue to invest in technology and cybersecurity measures to protect its digital banking services and maintain the security of customer transactions.
