Union Bank, Brand Chief Bag Honours at WIMCA 2026

Union Bank of Nigeria has been named the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion at the 2026 Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards, WIMCA.

The bank’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Mrs Olufunmilola Aluko, was also recognised among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications at the event held on Saturday, August 29, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The awards recognised the bank’s efforts to promote gender inclusion and expand opportunities for women across its workplace, customer base and broader business ecosystem.

WIMCA 2026, organised by Brand Communicator, brought together female marketing and communications professionals from across Africa to discuss leadership, resilience, industry trends and women’s participation in the marketing and communications sector.

Reacting to the recognition, Aluko said the award affirmed the bank’s commitment to gender inclusion as part of its approach to institutional growth and development.

She said the recognition would further encourage the bank to create opportunities for women to develop their careers, take on leadership roles and contribute to the marketing and communications industry.

“Union Bank’s recognition at WIMCA 2026 is a strong validation of our sustained commitment to advancing gender inclusion as a driver of institutional excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth,” Aluko said.

She added that the bank would continue to support initiatives aimed at empowering women across its workplace, customer base and wider society.

WIMCA, established by Brand Communicator, has become a platform for recognising female leadership and promoting women’s participation in the brand, marketing and communications industry.
