BIGI, Fearless Turn Soundcity OnTour Into Nationwide Campus Movement

BIGI and Fearless Energy Drink, in partnership with Soundcity OnTour, have transformed their nationwide university tour into a growing campus movement, combining music, entertainment, talent discovery and opportunities for young Nigerians across 15 campuses.

With five campuses still to visit before the tour concludes in Abuja in October, the initiative has continued to attract strong student participation while generating growing calls from campuses yet to host the experience.

The tour has so far visited institutions including Pan-Atlantic University, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Yaba College of Technology, the University of Lagos, University of Uyo, University of Calabar, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Port Harcourt, Niger Delta University and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Each stop has delivered a mix of live performances, student engagement and talent discovery, creating a platform that goes beyond conventional campus entertainment.

At the University of Lagos, more than 5,000 students turned out despite heavy rainfall to watch performances by Qing Madi, Falz, Joeboy, Wande Coal and Mr P of P-Square, while more than 25 emerging artistes also took the stage to showcase their talents.

Brand Manager at BIGI, Biola Arionsola, said the response demonstrated the strong connection between the brands and Nigerian students.

“The event truly set the bar. The turnout and energy of the students were outstanding, even with the weather conditions,” she said.

Beyond the headline performances, the tour has created opportunities for emerging artistes through BIGI Music, Rite Foods’ talent discovery platform.

At participating campuses, student artistes have the opportunity to perform before live audiences, compete for cash prizes and progress towards wider recognition through the competition’s regional and national stages.

At ABU, Zaria, Olaniyi Oluwakemi Abisola, popularly known as Abisola, emerged winner of the BIGI Music competition, while Moses Yakubu Ibrahim, known as Bhig Moe, and Ibrahim Yakubu Binkalim, popularly known as Ibrahim Binkaly, finished as first and second runners-up respectively.

The three artistes shared a ₦1 million cash prize.

However, the competition offers opportunities beyond the campus-level rewards, with standout performers able to progress towards the national stage, where eventual winners will receive studio production, A&R mentorship led by Bankulli, Soundcity Radio exposure and professionally produced music videos.

The tour has featured performances from artistes including Teni, Falz, Iyanya, Qing Madi, DJ Spinall, Nasboi, Kunmie, Shoday, Guchhi, Priesst, Shine and TTW, further strengthening its appeal among students.

For Rite Foods Limited, makers of BIGI Carbonated Soft Drinks and Fearless Energy Drink, the initiative provides a platform to connect with young Nigerians through music, entertainment, campus culture and opportunities for creative expression.

The growing demand from students and institutions yet to host the tour has become another indication of its expanding influence, with more campuses calling for the experience to come their way.

With five campuses remaining before the tour concludes in Abuja in October, BIGI, Fearless and Soundcity OnTour are set to continue bringing music, talent discovery, entertainment and opportunities to Nigerian students.
