The Lagos State Government has inaugurated a technical and mechanical workshop for the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, LNSA to improve the maintenance of operational vehicles, strengthen emergency response and enhance community security across the state.
The facility, located in Ijede, Ikorodu, is expected to reduce vehicle downtime, lower maintenance costs and keep more operational vehicles on the road for faster response to security incidents.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Olugbenga Oyerinde, said the workshop was established to ensure prompt maintenance of the agency’s operational fleet and improve its efficiency.
Oyerinde, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Sesan Ogundeko, noted that the modern facility would enhance the agency’s operational readiness by ensuring that more patrol vehicles remain serviceable to respond effectively to security challenges across Lagos State.
Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information Strategy and Security, Stephen Adegbite, and the member representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Moshood Aro, commended the initiative and urged LNSA personnel to remain dedicated to their responsibilities, assuring them of the government’s continued support.
General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince Ifalade Oyekan, expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for delivering the project.
He described the workshop as a strategic investment that would significantly reduce vehicle maintenance costs while improving the agency’s operational efficiency and readiness to safeguard communities across the state.
