Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, for approving the deployment of an operational police aircraft to strengthen security operations and intensify the fight against kidnapping, banditry and other crimes across the state.
The aircraft, deployed at the request of the Ogun State Government, is expected to enhance aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities of security agencies, particularly under the ongoing Operation Kosaye.
Receiving the aircraft and its crew on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, conveyed Governor Abiodun’s appreciation to the Inspector-General for his swift response and commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Ogun State.
Talabi said the deployment would significantly improve the operational effectiveness of security agencies by strengthening aerial monitoring and supporting intelligence-led operations across the state.
He noted that the aircraft would complement the ongoing Operation Kosaye, a joint security initiative targeting kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements operating in forests, border communities and other identified flashpoints in Ogun State.
According to him, the deployment further demonstrates the strong partnership between the Ogun State Government and security agencies, which has continued to deliver positive results in protecting residents and critical infrastructure.
Governor Abiodun also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the resources needed to effectively discharge their responsibilities, stressing that the state would continue investing in initiatives that promote peace, security and sustainable economic development.
