Access Bank UK is set to leverage its annual Polo Day to mobilise global support for the education of vulnerable children, bringing together business leaders, philanthropists, royalty and high-net-worth individuals to raise funds for educational initiatives.
The 2026 edition of the Access Bank UK Polo Day will take place on July 4 in Windsor, with organisers describing the event as more than a social gathering but a platform for driving meaningful investments in education and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged children.
According to the organisers, the event seeks to address one of the major barriers confronting many children across Nigeria and other underserved communities, limited access to quality education and learning resources.
Over the years, the Polo Day has evolved into a philanthropic platform that channels the influence of global business and community leaders into practical interventions, including the construction of classrooms, support for learning programmes and initiatives that enable children to remain in school.
Through partnerships with UNICEF and local organisations, funds raised from previous editions have supported education projects aimed at improving access to learning facilities, educational materials and continuous schooling for vulnerable children.
Organisers said the objective of the 2026 event is to expand the reach of these interventions by attracting greater support and increasing the scale of education programmes.
The event will also feature His Royal Highness, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, as Special Guest of Honour. He is expected to present the Emir’s Cup, adding a cultural and traditional dimension to the event.
His participation, organisers noted, reflects the broader goal of connecting leadership, heritage and philanthropy in support of social development.
Speaking ahead of the event, Managing Director of Access Bank UK, Jamie Simmonds, said the initiative demonstrates how corporate platforms can be used to address pressing societal challenges.
