In the spirit of celebrating Nigerian children and reaffirming the importance of quality education for all, the JADE Educational and Support Foundation has joined Nigerians and the global community in commemorating the 2026 Children’s Day.
The Foundation also used the occasion to unveil its official logo, symbolising its commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and access to education for every child, regardless of background or circumstance.
In a statement jointly signed by the Founder, Ibiremilekun Ibikunle-Ayeni, and the Secretary, Olajide Ayeni, JADE Foundation noted that despite the challenges facing the education sector in many parts of the country, Nigerian children continue to demonstrate resilience, creativity, and immense potential.
The Foundation stated that the theme for this year’s Children’s Day celebration, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” aligns closely with its core objective of promoting equality through education.
According to the statement, education remains one of the most powerful tools for empowering children and building a prosperous society.
“Every child deserves education because they are the future. An educated and informed society is essential for sustainable development, social progress, and national growth. We must therefore continue to invest in our children and create opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential,” the statement read.
JADE Foundation called on government agencies, private organisations, development partners, communities, and individuals to work together to address barriers preventing children from accessing quality education and other opportunities necessary for their development.
The Foundation further reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote educational access, inclusion, and equal opportunities for children across Nigeria.
As the nation celebrates Children’s Day, JADE Foundation urged stakeholders to prioritise the welfare, education, and protection of every child, noting that the future of Nigeria depends on the investments made in its children today.
JADE Foundation has also joined millions of Nigerians in calling for the immediate and safe release of the pupils and teachers recently abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The Foundation expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as a painful reminder of the security challenges confronting the nation’s education sector. It stressed that no child should be denied access to education or made to learn under the threat of violence and insecurity.
“As we celebrate Nigerian children and advocate for their right to quality education, we cannot ignore the plight of pupils and teachers who have been forcibly taken away from their classrooms.
We join other Nigerians in demanding their immediate and unconditional release and urge security agencies to do everything within their powers to secure their safe return. Every child deserves to learn in a safe and secure environment,” the statement said.
